placement at vast

Last week I was on a weeks placement at Vast in Leeds, it went really well because I was given a live project to do at the start of the week that I saw through to the end and even onto pitch boards. It was good experience in particular because it was so far from what I would usually be comfortable with, it was a web design brief for bridal wear using illustrator which I never generally use and so I learned a lot both in using the program and designing for a commercial client. Hopefully I will be able to revisit them in the future as it is definitely an environment I would be happy working in.

Going to write a little blurb about a designer as an example of my writing skills to see if I have a shot of this..

not too sure what I'm going to cover as POP cover a LOT of agencies/designers etc

I'm thinking of maybe doing a feature on Aaron's musical mathematics zine.

Marcroy has been a huge influence in my design practice, especially within the last year and a half as I love the experimentation with layout, type and image. 

Part of my SOI consists of the companies that I wish to target during this module, and so I have decided to send mail outs to some of those

Myself and Emma Cooper have decided to put together a PDF to send to Ollie from Catalogue for the opportunity to work on Vibrations magazine.
