Fine Art Yearbook

I don't think I have really gone into detail about the fine art yearbook just yet; we have a meeting set up for Monday at 9.30am to meet the staff and the students who have put themselves forward to help. We are still using the concept I came up with, but we're taking it in a different direction and producing new submission boards as we want to make sure that everybody has an input in the final proposal. Kirsty came up with a really good conceptual idea for the front cover; taking the idea of 'Thirsty' and having a very visual photographic element for the cover consisting of a man and a woman, the point we want to get across is that Fine Art are ready and willing because of their enthusiasm relative to their own work and prospective work. And so the final image is of two models, and an action shot of one licking the other... we wanted to be as elaborate as possible because we can always be reigned in if needs be. We have all been working on editing the images to see what works best, and this is my offering, i haven't experimented with type just yet.

We are having a meeting today at 3.00pm to sort out an overall visual and I will be making the submission boards ready to print in drop in on Monday morning before the meeting. We have been looking at a lot of context for how we want the layout to represent the artists and Nick showed us the Woolgather art prize publication but I can't seem to find a copy of it so I am going to hopefully steal that off him to blog about later! We have been looking at previous Fine Art yearbooks and the general structure to get an idea of how to put the publication together, these will also be blogged about shortly!
